Code of Ethics

MEMBERS OF THE CONSULTING EDITORS ALLIANCE are committed to the highest standards of professional conduct in the performance of editorial services.

Before starting work on a project, CEA editors will discuss and clarify with their clients all issues regarding the work to be done and will, if either party desires, draw up a letter of agreement confirming their mutual understanding. CEA editors will treat this information as confidential.

CEA members will not promise to arrange publication or agency representation for a project.

CEA members will avoid any conflicts of interest. They will neither offer nor pay any compensation to agents, editors, or other individuals in return for client referrals.
